Destiny is the library catalog search system. It can be accessed from here or from destiny.canyonsdistrict.org - choose Corner Canyon.
The first thing that needs to be done is to login Use the same login that you use to logon on the computers at school. Your password is your ID number. If you put in your e-mail address, it helps us to contact you for overdue books/fines or holds. If you have trouble with the account, see one of the library staff to fix it.
Once your account is created you will be able to do more things online than without one. For example, if you are an avid reader, you can create a book bag or list of books you would like to read. If you go to "Destiny Quest" (sounds pretty exciting doesn't it?), you can click and drag titles into your list. You can also put books that are checked out on hold. When the book comes back, we will contact you to let you know, so you can come and get it You can also search for books of the same genre or author.
You can search for books by keyword, author, title or subject on both Destiny Quest or the regular catalog search. It will tell you if the book is in or out and where to find it. If you click on the title or book icon (on Destiny Quest) it will give you information on awards, lexile and recommendations, along with the usual bibliographic information.
We now have WebPath Express which has, literally, thousands of reliable websites for research. Just click the link on the left side of the screen and type in your topic. It will bring up lots of sites (sometimes too many so use some parameters) to choose from. You can put them in a folder to look at later on, or print or e-mail the articles. It also will show the book titles we have here in the library for your topic.
Finally, choose Follettshelf on the left side menu list, where you can access ebooks, Catalist audio books and the Rosen Teen Health and Wellness database.
Also, we now can offer e-books and audio books that you can access through your personal devices or phones. Stop in and we can show you how.
